How to make ultimate Sambar? The key to make very good Sambar is in the sambar powder that you use. I have tried to compile the way the Sambar is made in traditional way with home made powder. So the question boils to how to make nice home-made Sambar powder. Here is my mom's recipe Enough for 2 people for more than 15 times of making sambar 200 gm Channa Dhal 250 gm Red chilli (if chilli is very hot 100-150 gm is enough) round chilli is preferred than the flat sticky one 400 gm Dhaniya 1 tbsp pepper 2 tbsp jeera(cumin seeds) 1 tbsp Methi 1 turmeric stick( not the round/conical one but the one that look like twigs) This is optional only if you get use this Point to Note: Grind only in Mixie. Raja the king of music

Okay.. After a long time I am posting something here. Was kinda lazy to come and add something here. Also pretty busy with so many activities. But what made me come here this time. Raja's Thiruvasagam made it. I am going to be a proud owner of the collector's edition in a week from now. Its going to be delivered directly from the studio. Amazing isn't it!! If you don' know what I am talking about either you are not a Raja fan or you are from other parts of the country. "Thiruvasagathukku urugaar, oru vasagathukkum urugaar" Raja has composed 6 of those and sung 5 of them. Don't know who sung the other one.

What did I do recently??

Movies that I saw: Ayya: Good one. Hari is still "hurrying" to glory.. Chandramukhi:For Thalaivar Fans definitely "Rajni" factor is missing. Good story line.Could have been better if direction was good. Even though everybody gives great rating, CMukhi is let down by Jyotika. Vadivelu helps us in driving away boredom. Nayanthara, who? Where? Okay. When will Thalaivar's next will come? Sachin: Exactly like Sachin Tendulkar nowadays. Books That I read: Jeff Archer: 36 Collected short stories. Jeff never fails. Organisational behaviour: Thinking about it ;-)) Songs that I am singing: Oru vaartha from Ayya Ding dong koil mani from G Food that I made: Uralaikizhangu bajji. Came well but hurt myself during the process ;-(

Why Carnatic Music?

As an enthusiast of Carnatic Music, I like its depth and breath. We dont know the value of anything until we really understand or try to understand it. But most of the times it is tarnished saying it is "saami paatu" an image painted by the pro-dravidian politics or "slow-songs" by the music enthusiasts who like the rhythm based music. Here is an outsider's view of Why Carnatic Music?

Tsunami

Asia has been brutally attacked by a killer Tsunami reportedly killing 100,000 people The worst part of the most tragedies in the world particularly in the developing nations is many poor people are getting affected. For being so vulnareable for most of the diseases and poor living conditions the "survival of the fittest" game takes the toll of these people. With no prior warning, Tsunami attacked the coastal belt of TamilNadu the state from where I am from. The living conditions in the coastal region is bad. Even though Marina is the second longest beach in the world, it never gots it part of the world attention so far for good reasons. Please visit the Tsunami Help to take part in the activity of Tsunami Relief. Includes right from Information about to missing people to blog help request.
